entry: Hiya Greg. Just checked out your vid with the moving droplets. Very cool stuff! Is their a link that gives a brief rundown on how this technique works?

Nope. Basically the droplets are done with displacement, the displacement map is made using a 2d feedback process, each frame gets a blurred, warped, and darkened bit of each previous frame, so basically everything leaves a trail, and thats what I used as a displacement map on a copy of the base surface. Its a bit hard to explain, and there's a bit more to it than that, but hopefully that makes sense.

entry: Nice to see the sushi alien move around. Lots of life their.

Perhaps it would work best if you cut to the close-up a bit after he raises his hand.

entry: The animation tests are awesome. I have no idea how you've done the droplets, I suppose the "hand" motion is based on photography (cuz it looks so real), but I have no idea..... (it could be developed into an impressive horror movie scene, or a bjork video....)

And of course the sushi monster. ....spechless.
